Condolences for the erased (2025)

Condolences for the Erased is a body of work in progress, that invites us to revisit the ways in which we grief, mourn, and move on, using erasure as a political tool for navigating loss, which in turn, distorts history and the archives. It reimagines the archive not as a static album of memories, but as a fragile site of mourning, erasure, and inquiry. Drawing from Achillies Mbembe’s The Power of the Archive and Its Limits and Jacques Derrida’s Archive Fever, it examines the tension between remembering and forgetting, between what is preserved, what is erased and who curates and controls what we remember or forget.
